Delete Your OCars Account

We respect your privacy and provide you with the ability to delete your OCars account and associated data at any time. This page explains how to request account deletion and what data will be removed.

⚠️ Important: What Happens When You Delete Your Account

Your account will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered
All your personal data will be removed from our systems
Active bookings may be cancelled (please review your bookings first)
You will lose access to all account features and history
Your car listings (if you're a host) will be removed

How to Request Account Deletion

Step 1: Review Your Account

Before deleting your account, please:

Cancel any active bookings or resolve any pending transactions
Download any important information you may need (booking history, receipts, etc.)
Complete any pending payments or refunds
Remove any active car listings if you're a host

Step 2: Send Account Deletion Request

To delete your OCars account, please send an email to our support team with the following information:

Subject: Account Deletion Request
Email Address or Phone Number: The email or phone number associated with your OCars account
Full Name: As registered in your account
Reason (optional): Help us improve by sharing why you're deleting your account
Confirmation: State that you understand your account and data will be permanently deleted

Step 3: Verification Process

For security purposes, we will:

Verify your identity by confirming account details
Send a confirmation email to verify the deletion request
Process your deletion request within 30 days of verification

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you delete your OCars account, the following data will be permanently removed:

Personal Information

Account profile information (name, email, phone number)
Profile photos
Account preferences and settings

Identity Documents

KYC verification documents (Aadhaar, PAN, Driving License, Passport)
Document images stored in our system
KYC verification status and history

Booking Information

Booking history and details
Payment transaction records (after legal retention period)
Trip history and reviews

Car Listings (Hosts)

Car listing information and photos
Pricing and availability data
Host earnings and payout information (after legal retention period)

App Activity

Search history
App preferences and settings
Notification preferences

What Data May Be Retained

Certain data may be retained for legal, regulatory, or business purposes as required by law:

Legal and Regulatory Requirements

Financial Records: Payment and transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by tax and accounting regulations
Legal Disputes: Information related to ongoing legal disputes or investigations
Safety and Security: Records of fraudulent activity or security incidents may be retained for security purposes

Aggregated and Anonymized Data

Statistical and analytical data that cannot identify you personally
Data used for improving our services (anonymized)

Data Retention Period

After your account deletion request is processed:

Immediate Deletion: Personal information, profile data, and account credentials are deleted immediately
30 Days: Most account data is permanently removed within 30 days
Up to 7 Years: Financial and transaction records may be retained for legal compliance (tax, accounting regulations)

Alternative: Deactivate Your Account

If you're not ready to permanently delete your account, you can:

Log out of the app and stop using it
Remove all personal information from your profile
Cancel any active bookings
Contact us to temporarily deactivate your account
